Won't you take me to FUNKYTOWN? *Instrumental Interlude*

Today (yesterday-- Saturday) was "Have an Admitted Hood Student Sleep Over in Your Room While you have fun yet Abstain From Doing Inappropriate College-Like Things Whilst Hosting as to Not Scare them into Withdrawing Their Deposit Day", and one of my friends hosted a girl named Brooke who told me she played Veruca in Middletown's production of Charlie in the Chocolate Factory a few years ago. (Anywho Katie Bell,  as you are my one and only Middletown contact I had to mention you and she definitely said she remembered you . Do you remember her? )  She seemed nice enough I guess. We discussed "Drive Your Tractor to School Day".

Still, I'm sorta glad I didn't sign up to host. :P

On Friday night Hood had a karaoke contest in Whitaker Commons and although I attended for the sole purpose of watching others have a good time and possible make fools out of themselves, last-minute I got together with two friends, Leah and Lauren to sing YMCA, and Lauren asked Ben and Hong be our backup dancers. (Side note if you didn't know: YMCA is an incredibly looooong song! Never knew it until I had to sing lead vocals lol) :P In the end, we won second place which was pretty awesome and with the title came a $20 dollar gift card for Barnes and Noble which admittedly won't go too far with five people...but oh well! It was just awesome getting a chance to finally karaoke.

In other news, saw a Javier Mendoza concert here on campus (Javier was great, and his drummer QUITE attractive. His name was Joe. Unfortunately, there exist no pictures of him. Anywhere.) and played a little Guitar Hero and DDR afterwards which turned out to be mad fun. (I was daring and played a couple of rounds of DDR without the aid of a sports bra. Oho, bold! ;D) Then came back and played Apples to Apples in Kendra’s room, in which I claimed the final card  “Useless” through the use of my handy trump card,  “Homeless Shelters”. Terrible, I know. But it won! ;D

First read-through for the play (Six Characters in Search of an Author) tomorrow at 1:00-still can’t believe I got cast! So exciting. I love being part of productions, they always come together and the most wonderful ways! I’m not playing a major role, but GUESS WHAT? MY role doesn’t have a NUMBER in it!! First role to date without a number in it. No “Chinese Singer #3”…no “Townsperson #4” or “Party Guest #2”. No. Gosh darn it, I am the Stage Manager. And it's a small cast, too. Moving up in the world! Lol I’ve got to get to sleep in a minute, hope all of your guys’ weekends are going fantastically! <3
