So here is my new news so far.
The exciting news is that I got into the artist diploma program at Western and will be studying with Mary Lou Fallis next year.
Not only that, I came in third place for the concerto competition and will be performing sieben fruhe lieder by Berg with the UWO orchestra next year. Jerry Summers (the conducter)liked me so much, that he is also including Mahler's 4th symphony on the same program and I will sing the soprano solo that ends the last movement.
If that wasn't enough, he also wants me to sing the Christmas portion of the Messiah and Saint Saens Christmas oratorio with the International Symphony Orchestra (a combined orchestra between the US and Canada). I will be performing in the US and Canada! YIKES!
To top it all off I got into a summer opera program with the University of Manitoba. It is a contemporary opera lab and I will study with John Hess, Tracy Dahl and Mel Braun. Too much excitement! Not only that I am involved in Ariadne's thread and so far it is going very well and is an extremely exciting opportunity.
