Went home this weekend for Mothers' Day and to get more of my stuff from the 'rents house for my *new home*. Here's a little taste of where I come from:
Visited the Grandparents Farlow, and learned an interesting and pleasing fact. They do a lot of geneaology, and have traced back the Farlow line to this guy:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweyn_Forkbeard Apparently, my earliest known ancestor is Sweyn Forkbeard, pirate king of Denmark, and at one point, England, which is totally sweet. This perhaps explains my affinity for Vikings and zest for pillaging.
Went to Indiana on the South Shore to South Bend, where the parents picked me up, and then conveniently, my Dad had to deliver alligator bones to a guy at the Field Museum (Dad is a paleontologist), so it worked out to drive me (and my stuff) back to Chicago. This is Dad sieving sediment from the Pipe Creek sinkhole in Marion, IN:
While going through my stuff, discovered this Barbie which I never re-outfitted:
I wonder if this would be considered disturbingly violent tendencies?
