The real lawyering begins
Today I picked up my first real clients for my immigration internship. All my other work during summers has been research and paper shuffling, so I'm very excited about this. I'll get other clients as the semester goes on, but I'm off to a good start. The first client is pretty simple, just making sure an application he made is getting through the system. The second I'll actually be going to court with in a week and a half. Talk about a steep learning curve! Still, it's the sort of work I signed up for and I'm glad I got a chance so quickly. I guess I can't say too much more, since I've got to keep confidentiality, but hey, I'm doing the real thing now. This is going to be fun, I think, and if all goes well, I'll get to help a few people, too.
