My job... it's getting more stupid by the second. Honestly, I think I would be just fine if I didn't have a boss. I must clarify, because I know for a fact my boss-boss's daughters are my myspace friends (HI Chrissy and Val! hehe)--I'm referring to my immediate boss, Cynthia. She just now called me into her office to tell me that a very integral and time-consuming task I do will now take more time than before. And she adds to that that if I'm told to do something extra, I'm expected to stay and work overtime. What the fuck? I know that.
My neighbor is moving. As happy as I am about that, and that Lauren gets to move in, I'm not surprised at all that something retarded has happened. I got home yesterday and the apartment was freezing. I checked the vents--nothing. They'd been blowing full-steam all weekend, to the point I made note of it, actually. There had been heat before Matt and I went to work, but he agreed it felt cold when he came home after O'Chuck's/before BP... We still have electricity and running water that gets hot. Our apartment is set up so stupidly. I'm sure anyone who knows me slightly has already heard this rant a hundred times.
I can't even be certain of what is actually going on. It is only by process of trial and error that we even know what is what. It's not until something gets cut off that we discover how things were set up. Yesterday when our power was on, our water ran out of the faucets and got hot, our basement lights were on, yet the washer and dryer (in the basement) would not run, we discerned that it must have been her electricity that was cut off...even though it is supposed to revert to the landlord's name when she turns it off. But we also know that it must be the electricity and not the gas, because if it was the gas, the water wouldn't run. How stupid is that?! Her electricity gets cut off, and our heat stops working.
On the bright side, our landlord gave us his cell phone number a couple weeks ago, so I was actually able to get ahold of him for once and tell him what was going on. I still haven't even paid the rent for March. It is now the 21st, by the way. Of course he asked about it. I told him it must've gotten lost in the mail... Truth is, we can't afford it. Technically I can't complain about the utilities not working, because technically I should be out on my ass. These are tough times for your Erin, but hopefully everything will work itself out now that Matt has a job.
