Why do I say that, you ask? I just happen to have six examples -in order of when I saw it-:
-Jareth/Sarah - Labyrinth
.Who failed? David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly well, pretty much just David Bowie
-"Love me. Fear me. Do as I say and I'll be your slave." Do I really need to explain this one? Seriously? o.O
-Logan/Rogue - X-Men
.Who failed? Hugh Jackman and Anna Paquin
-the writers can have Logan pine for Jean all they want. And Rogue can moon over Bobby. Doesn't change my opinion. And Hugh can claim brother/sister all he wants. *Erin is not blind*
-Riddick/Jack (aka Kira) - The Chronicles of Riddick
.Who failed? Vin Diesel and Alexa Davalos well, pretty much just Vin
-Vin, I have a brother. No brother would ever put his hand there, even during a "disagreement." o.O
-I saw it in Pitch Black, honestly. Also, the reason I can't hold a straight face at the sight or mention of a pineapple. goylegirl knows why. *nods*
-Obi-Wan/Padme (aka Amidala) - Star Wars prequels
.Who failed? Ewan MacGregor and Natalie Portman
-When was I sold? That would be the look on EM's face when NP announces to Boss Nass that she is, in fact, Queen Amidala. You know what it says to me? Says to me that Obi-Wan is telling Qui-Gon: "Told you so." Oh, that and I despise Anakin. And Hayden, for that matter. Gah!
-Mal/River - Serenity
.Who failed? Nathan Fillion and Summer Glau.
-Please! Nathan completely ad-libbed the 'It's what I do' scene. Oh, and then there's that whole 'make people better' speech. *eyeroll*
-Cain/DG - Tin Man
.Who failed? Neal McDonough and Zooey Deschanel
-In this case, the writers even admitted that they specifically wrote the subtext in there. Neal can deny it all he wants. I'm not blind.
Perhaps you see it. Perhaps not. No matter to me. It's 1:30 in the morning and I felt the need to share my opinion on the matter.
