Dad's on his way to the hospital via ambulance. Third time since Jan 01.
They can't figure out what's wrong with him, which is super frustrating, all around. The last time (last week) he thought he was in for a sore throat - he couldn't swallow and all signs pointed to tonsils - but they were keeping him for observation from passing out. Mom didn't even tell me or The Lifeguard until end of the day, because she didn't want J distracted for his interview. (I only found out because he told me after he found out. I only found out Dad was even home on Sunday, again because he found out before picking me up for the jaunt out to the beach).
Mom's been saying Dad's had seizures since last year, but everyone has been telling her she was over-reacting. He had one while the EMTs were there, tonight, so she feels very vindicated. But he was awake and talking to the EMTs, so there's that.
Mom just called to tell me she was leaving the house (they're about an hour outside Tallahassee, so she's in for a long drive in the dark); and I guess we'll see what happens. Up side is that the EMTs are taking him to a different hospital (one he was at last year), because they don't like the one he was at last week. (The Jan 01 visit was the local hospital, a few miles from the house)
My brother was supposed to head up tomorrow, to assist with packing up half the house - they're getting new floors, post-hurricane -- did I ever even post about the hurricane? Or his broken arm? God, last year was a blur of WTF to infinity, y'all.... -- and it's horrible to say Thank God he's still unemployed.. but having him able to be up there for a week at a time has been helpful.
Still, we really need him to get a job, because he's losing it.
And I've got a friend who got an eviction notice (or equivalent) on Christmas Day; another friend is flying out in the AM, to assist her mother with a medical issue; three other friends are dealing with their own/family member extended hospital stays...
Just.. WTF 2024?
And on top of all this, not-boss returns to Florida from eight months in Montana tonight (probably in a landing pattern, if they haven't landed already), and that means that starting tomorrow, I have to deal with all three of them again (boss, not-boss, and lawyer on the other side of the building). The racist BS already started up today; once all three of them are together, it'll be the rest of the FOX News-level BS that I'll have to listen to.
So, yeah... I'm in for a great Thursday.
