and here's as hard to find as any.
The Lifeguard just called. His best friend in Florida just sent him a text to let him know that he and his wife lost their baby, today. He was at 34 weeks and they were able to hold him before he died, which is literally the only good thing I can find in that mess.
I don't know any more than that, at this point, because what little I do know, I get from the Lifeguard. I've met the wife once, and it just has never worked out that when they all get together that I'm available/invited.
I just know how very excited BFAM-Florida was for this.. So excited that they used a MegaCon photo op with Jeff Goldblum as the setting for the announcement.
And, then, the Lifeguard called BFAM Nate, to tell him to give the not-niece and not-nephew an extra long hug, to be told that BFAM Nate's grandfather died, this morning.
This is a man who, upon having a heart attack (coincidentally in the town mom and dad live in), the Lifeguard told his boss that his own grandfather had had a heart attack and left work in a damn panic.
So.. long story short... the Lifeguard is a wreck.
I mean, I shouldn't be AS emotional, as I never met the man.. nor have I spent more than a few hours with BFAM-Florida and his wife.
But God, what a punch in the gut in less than a half-hour span. :\
