I don't usually watch award shows, because I really don't care. Well, the Tonys, but only for certain categories.
However, for the love of Keala, we watched the entire broadcast, last night.
I have to say - aside from one obvious disappointment - it wasn't a bad show. A few awkward spots.. I mean we could have taken that entire trip across the street out and focused more on 90 years worth of movies.
But whatever.
Keala NAILED it and she was wonderful and so very proud of her. And, if The Greatest Showman wasn't going to get a win, at least Disney got it.
I haven't seen The Shape of Water, nor do I ever plan to.. but it was richly satisfying to see it continue to get beat out. Would have preferred any of the nominees to win the final award.. but I'm not in the Academy, so whatever.
It was worth it, if all else to experience Golic's meltdown this morning
PS: Jodie Foster blaming Meryl Streep for her injury was the HIGHLIGHT of the evening
