I Finished my 1st Trimester of Chiropractic School!!
So, let’s see I haven’t updated since the first day of Christmas break basically. Well, A LOT has happened since then, or at least I would like to think so. From what I remember from Christmas break, I arrived home the night before Christmas Eve. Spent the holidays with the family and it was a good time, as always. I went to the Field Museum, saw the King Tut exhibit with Loretta and Johnnie. I spent New Years in Champaign at Kathleen and Phil’s NYE party… it was fun, got to see friends that I haven’t seen in a while. And honestly, I can’t remember much more that I did besides that… besides visiting people. I spent a lot of break studying because I had some huge tests the week we came back.
Back here, it has been the usual. Classes, study, eat, sleep, repeat… haha. Friday is usually the going out/partying night and Saturday is usually the inside quiet movie night. I’ve been to some new places around here. One weekend I went to Grumpy’s with Ash, Kajal, Justin, and Sarah… played some pool, ate some popcorn (who knew it would go well with white Russians?), got some popcorn dumped on me… boy, I bet they hated us there… haha. Let’s see, another weekend I cooked for Amy, Paul, Quynh, Mike, Rob, and Robin… homemade manicotti… noodles and all. They all said they liked it, and Quynh said it was better than the manicotti she had ordered in NY, so I guess that’s a good sign… haha. We played drinking Jenga later… and I completely suck at it… I had to take a shot on one, finish my drink when I knocked it over, a shot on another… oh and then after we finished a few games of that we played Thunderstruck. I got stuck on the solo… that was another drink down. Mind you, Quynh and Amy were making my drinks which were basically vodka with a dash of sprite… yeah, I got kinda trashed. After that we went to Carriage Haus and thankfully Robin drove me home. Another weekend Q and A decided they wanted to go to a country bar, well, they found one alright. We did a little pre-drinking (playing quarters) and all headed out. The country bar (Chaps) was a joke… they knew all these crazy complicated line dances and whatnot. Luckily, Kajal came, picked us up, and we headed to Grumpy’s. Later we (Amy, Quynh and I) headed to Mike’s, watched a movie and the 3 of us ended up falling asleep there… I stole all the covers off of both Q and A… and woke up practically on top of Amy… whoops! Oh, and the superbowl happened since I updated too. I am soooo glad the Bears lost! Hahahaha! It is awesome. I went to a superbowl party… and I was the only female there… I felt a little out of place once in a while, but it was still a good time. Oh, I actually had semi-good Chinese food (I usually hate Chinese food) with Amanda, Caroline, and Samantha... I was kinda forced to eat it, and they helped me pick out something. A couple weekends ago I went out with the boys to Nick’s place… and we played drinking games there. Jeff and I got gased out by Nick’s dog. And I suck at hockey (a drinking game)… Rob was my partner and everytime he had to drink I forgot to tell him to stop… whoops! So then he made Paul have control over everytime I had to drink, so I ended up drinking a lot and also bc I suck at drinking games lately. Later, we all decided to head out to Scattercats (a 4 floor bar), and it was fun… I was kinda trashed again… haha, bc Rob ended up carrying me to Paul’s car… and then we hung out back at perry hill apts… drunk dialed Amy and such… haha. The next day I tried Mongolian food at the grill with all of them plus Q and A, thank goodness, testosterone levels were getting a little up there for me... haha, and it was actully pretty good... and then we watched movies at P and R's. Let’s see, last weekend was the weekend in between finals… so didn’t do too much. Friday I went and watched a couple movies at Paul’s and then late Saturday night I met up at The Gardens with Amy, Quynh, Rob, Aho, and Scott… we all had a couple drinks to keep us sane during finals.

I’ve met some pretty great people… and we’ve had some good times together as you can see from the above, but also helping each other out through the trimester. Yes, there were stressful times, especially the week when we had an insane amount of exams, quizzes, and practical all in one week…. or times when I never saw daylight, bc I was at school for class or some reason or another for the entire day. But, all in all I really enjoyed my first tri, can’t complain really about all the work, because it’s expected… that’s the whole reason I am here. I have learned A TON, and I definitely have a greater appreciation for the human body. It’s just a really nice environment here, and I don’t think I could have asked for a better class to spend this 3 1/3 year ride with. And things that used to be an abnormal thing to do/see, have become things that someone wouldn’t think twice about being odd… like practicing for a palpation practical in the cafeteria and asking someone to palpate your ischial tuberosity… hahaha. Yeah, an outsider would probably consider us a kinda odd group of people for things like that. Well, I have 10 days off before next tri. Tonight we are celebrating here in D-port, tomorrow I am coming home.
