Yup October 7th and I seriously just want it to be over with so everyone can get on with their lives. Don't get me wrong, I know I will enjoy the day when it came but this has just been horrible planning this. Nothing went smoothly, nothing. I'm glad someone else is going through the same thing. I have alot of single friends who just kinda patronize me, "Oh poor Erin, planning her wedding," they will feel my pain soon enough :P
I jsut finished planning my brother's weddign which was sunday...I'm still stressed and feelign crappy, though everyone said it was great. theere were a few minor glitches, etc.
anyway, for guests, it's certainly acceptable and within etiquette to call (prefereably) or email the guest and remind them the invite was for them alone and as you wrote above, you want an intimate weddign with people who are clsoe friends/family.
I was a tad disappointed by the flowers, but can't complain about the price (I only had her do bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres so it was under $400 Canadian dollars)
Anyway, do your best, and try not to let it get to you. talk to flower lady and see if you can talk the price down considering she went over without asking, and definitely cut out those extra guests.
I think it may come down to asking people not to bring guests. I guess it just amazes me because our guest list really does know each other. It's all the girls from my sorority and all the guys from his fraternity who all hung out with each other. It's not like this is some big lavish event where they would feel odd without a date. I would almost rather have a bunch of children running around. At least their meal is half off :P
