Well, this weekend was great, I must say. Friday Kaja's fam came into town so we hung out over at her house just visiting. Then we made a trip to Tonya's to pick up some things for Kaja. Greg then got off of work and had to be promptly fed and smoked to be made happy. Then I stayed up reading for way too long before nigh night time.
Lovely.
Sat I woke up and had to go to my hair appt at 9am to my brother's mother in laws hair salon to see if she could rectify my horrid hair situation. She did. But sadly, my hair is no more, although now one length. I exagerrate of course, my hair looks good. Its just shorter than it has been in forever and if I was going to take this much off of it I would have donated it in the first place. Grrrr.... I learned my lesson. James called it my "Dawn" haircut. Cute.
I was then rushed over to Kaja's so we could pack her and the baby up and drive down to the St. Augustine condo where she and her family stay every other year for visits. The baby slept the whole way down. Angel. We listened to some Alanis Morrisette "Jagged Little Pill" I reminisced about going to that concert when I was in like, what, 7th grade and being passed my first joint at a concert. :) Funny.
Hung out with the fam and drank an overabundance for yours truly. My phone reception sucked. The water was clear and really nice. Color me suprised. Good food. Good people. Kaja's mother suggested that Greg and I get married by her (she's a notary) the next time the whole fam comes down. We thought that was cute.
Sunday I woke up with not nearly as bad a hangover as I should have had. Thank you expensive liquor. Then I ate some scalli bread with butter (pure unadulterated heaven) and drank some coffee. Then Kaja's brothers children demanded my presence for frisbee and a swim in the ocean which I was only too happy to provide. I conspired with said children to have a pile up on all unsupecting grown ups. And Kaja. Great fun.
Kaja's brother Tommy's son Thomas (Get that?) Developed somewhat of a puppy dog crush on me and was pretty much attached to me for the rest of the day. Sweet kid. (Hes 5) He was quite put off when Greg showed up but quickly realized he wasn't a threat and resumed in following me around. We ate a turkey feast that left me feeling quite full and tired and then lounged around.
The evening was spiced up when a snake slithered 2 feet away from Kaja, causing her to practically soil herself. Then Greg and I had to say our goodbyes and depart. I almost left with a 5 year old attached to my leg. He would have been a cute addition to our zoo!
Yay weekend. One of the best I have had in a long time. You can always count on St. Augustine. One of this places only saving graces.
Now back to work and saving and planning!
Peace!!!!
