Did some actual writing last night using one tool that's guaranteed to get me started: Dr. Wicked's Write or Die. Thanks, Doctor! Just a few hundred words in GILBERT PEREZ where I decided to dive into the chapter set in the Mexican prison even though, so far, I've been unable to find out much about what Mexican prisons were like in 1570. Gilbert tells me it's worse than pig farming, and I think he's probably right about that. Nice to write. Been awhile.
I also talked to my agent just now and was happy to hear she thinks I'll have a contract and money for sometime in Jan or Feb. HOPE! She also had a long list of scouts for foreign publishers that she is keeping on a string for me. I love her!
And PLAIN KATE looks increasingly as if it will be out for Fall 2010.
