Today was the paramount of nerd awesome.
My fellow nerd friends and I finally did what we'd said we were gonna do for over a year, and watched the entire Lord of the Rings extended edition trilogy in one sitting. In the Shire we ate chili and drank beer/wine. Somewhere near Rohan we ordered a bunch of pizza. After the victory at Helm's Deep we opened a bottle of mead to celebrate. And when we WON, we cracked open a bottle of champagne (left over from New Years)! Here were a few of our toasts as Aragorn was crowned King of Gondor:

To Middle Earth!
To fly pointy-ear babes!
To powerful movie moments!
To friends!
Sigh. After sitting on our asses for roughly twelve hours, we took a nice walk through the Bearden area, humming and whistling the Isengard theme (you know, the one in 5/4 time with lots of drums) into the still night air.
