When you crave more story and when you lose interest

I love good fanfic. When it's done right you can imagine it as part of your favorite fandoms. Because let's face it: we want more of our favorite fandoms. It's why fanfic exists (outside shipping characters, etc but you get the picture.) But you know what makes me lose all interest in reading it? The summaries. If you can't define it properly then why should the reader be interested? Sounds harsh but it's true.

And if you bring up your dislikes that have no bearing on the story then I'm not going to bother reading it. This has happened twice in the last couple of weeks from two different writers. I don't care if you hate the relaunch, Catwoman, the new Superman, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Green Lantern, whatever. If it has nothing to do with what you wrote it's a waste of space and in some cases insulting to those that actually like those titles.
