The roomie and I went to Skagit County (the Mount Vernon area) today. We had heard about the tulip festival up there and wanted to check it out. (Tulips are my favorite flower.) The weather had been rather cool for the springtime so the tulips were being stubborn about blooming but we stopped at the information desk and found the best places to see the flowers.
The main place we spent time at was Tulip Town, where there is in an indoor ‘showroom’ of tulips and a huge field of tulips outside. It is a bit touristy but it was a great place to stop for some pictures. Other than that we just drove around the area and pulled over when we saw a field that was picture worthy. Skagit County does just have tulips, there are also daffodils and iris (which were not out).
There was also a small town festival going where we found WISCONSIN CHEESE CURDS!!! (First time I have had some in over a year!!!)
