My computer died on me last week. The power had been acting funny; the computer would not recognize that the computer was plugged into an outlet and would not charge the battery. I took the computer over to Best Buy to see if it was the motherboard or the just the power cord. The roomie and I had our fingers crossed that it was just the power cord…no luck…it was the motherboard.
As my computer was a laptop it would have cost major bucks to have the computer sent in and fixed. On top of the motherboard issue one of the seams along the screen was splitting. The computer was almost four years old and had traveled with me through college and through Japan. No wonder it was dying.
All of that said, I called both Dad and Penny to talk it over with them and now I have a new computer! Penny was a huge help because she knows about computers and how to find a good one that fits a persons needs. So far things are running smoothly. It does run on Vista and I don’t mind that so far but it super different from my XP operating system that my old computer used. I think it will take some getting used to.
The roomie is just as happy as I am with the new computer. She was bit annoyed with my whining and asking to borrow her computer. (I do admit that I am a bit addicted to the computer/internet.) She also didn’t have too much sympathy because she was without hers in Japan for a month when her motherboard crashed.
Jean Luke, the cat, was curious about my computer. He took one look at it and sneezed all over it!
So this is my first entry from my new computerr!
