I moved from Wisconsin to escape the snow and what do you know it followed me to Washington. This is the most snow our area has seen in a decade! (about six whole inches) When it snows the city shuts down. Very few buses, hardly any cars on the road, and business close. The reason for this is because the city only has 13 snowplows. Count them...13! I was a bit shocked when I learned that.
It is fun to watch the locals (no, I don’t consider myself one yet) to freak out over the snow. Adults start snow ball fights and kids celebrate school being out.
Even though I really don’t like snow I am glad to have some here because my roomie really hasn’t seen snow before. I am sad to say we haven’t had a snowball fight or built a snowperson. Maybe if it is still around when we get back from Christmas we can do that.
