Girl's Night

It was a night of facials, foot spas, friends, and food. In other words, it was Girl’s Night at Beth’s place. Beth had found a bunch of recipes for facemasks and wanted to try them out so she decided to have a girl’s night. The rules were no boys, no talk of work, and mostly healthy food. All of the rules were followed! Kevin and Pete were in the apartment but they stuck to the computer room and only came in to the main apartment to steal some food a couple of times.

The party started at 4:00pm and went until 1:00am. We started off with a glass of champagne and a toast. After that, we played a game where we all had to write three statements. Two were true and one was false. We took turns reading our statements and everyone had to guess which one was a lie. I am pleased to say I came in dead last with zero points. I did not guess one correctly. Beth had small gifts for all of us, some foot powder, bath salts, and the recipes for the face masks.

The facials were great. Beth had a wide variety for us to try: oatmeal, tomato and egg, yogurt/honey/sugar, yogurt/honey, and made out of avocado. The spas were also wonderful. Beth had a ton of different oils for us to use in our footbaths and we sat around and talked as we enjoyed the spa.

I think the last time I saw that much food was during our Thanksgiving dinner. We had subway subs, two different cakes, crackers and bread, different dips, and fruit. We also made fruit smoothies with rum (for those who were not driving).

The last event was the ‘chick flicks’. We decided to watch The Princess Diaries because it was easy to understand (for the Japanese girls) and a couple of the Americans had never seen it. That ended around 12:30 and Anne, Andrea, and I decided it was time to catch a taxi and head back to our apartments.

This was the pre-birthday bash for Beth. Next Saturday is her birthday and we will be doing something then, too.
