Connor Short's Nineteenth Birthday!
MY SECOND FAMLY LOL
Allow me to start this off by saying there was no great expectations, better yet no expectations whatsoever for the 7th of November, other than it being Connor Short's 19th birthday. The plan was to eat at this place called Schaller's Pump then to see The Dark Knight at Navy Pier in IMAX at 11:00 PM.
Schaller's Pump is a bar on the south side of Chicago in the Sox vicinity. It goes without saying that the place was decked out in Sox gear. After we ate, we had two hours to do anything before the movie. Connor wanted to go to Comiskey Park to take pictures with the Championship Moments monument. We got to Comiskey and climbed on the monument and took pictures when a cop car drove by and flashed its lights on us. They parked their car right in front of us and two police officers came out. We assumed we were in trouble for climbing all over the place, but the first thing they said was, "HEY! WANT US TO TAKE THE PICTURE FOR YOU GUYS?!" Both of them were chill as hell and they reminded me of the two cops from Superbad. After taking a sufficient amount of pictures outside, the cops asked if we wanted to go inside to the lobby to take pictures with the 2005 World Series Trophy. That in itself was exciting. We were like little kids in a candy shop. Then one of the cops said, "WANT TO SEE THE FIELD?!" I remember looking at Connor and his face was in awe. The cop went behind the main desk and grabbed a set of keys. Connor, Me, Kaitlan, Candy, and Sean all followed him like little school children. Once he opened the doors to the field, all of us were in complete disbelief. We went on the grass, went in the dugout, sat where Ozzie sits, picked up the phone that calls the bullpen (which actually automatically connects without dialing any number), and took countless amounts of pictures of each given activity.
And what better way to end an amazing night other than watching The Dark Knight in IMAX?
That would be six for Connor and five for Erin. Accounted for 9 people.
