NaNo '14

Well, it’s that time of year again, where I actually get on Livejournal and post something, because it’s tradition and I have nowhere else to put this. Where I tell about me winning NaNoWriMo again, and then try to remember all the crap I wanted to put in this journal throughout the month. Or the day, depending. I know I’ll forget to mention ( Read more... )

The dragons were supposed to have a larger role, and they might in GO and GC, because she has more free reign, and she’s considered a part of Damien’s wing now. I want to make the dragons more of a focus, but really, the nature of the story makes it so they’re actually second fiddle. As for Sapphros, it was like you knew he was always there, I guess, but I’d forgot he was, and…yeah. Forget to mention him at times. But I guess knowing their Bond and that he’s always there helps with that. ^^;

I felt so bad writing about the half-wit stuff, and I’m half wondering how my cousin, who reads my stuff and is special needs herself, will take it. I mean, a lot of what I wrote was inspired by her, in a sense, mostly in the form that they program she was in was with other half-wits who’d be able to function perfectly in society, but needs a little help, like her. And I tried to make it out like half-wits weren’t exactly shunned or anything. Some are, but I think we all know the type. >.O But thankfully, I have an idea how to explain away the whole separation of the special needs people, so…yeah. Its just that this story was developed ten years ago, when it wasn’t sp politically incorrect to call them half-wits. And that just, well, stuck.

But I know people’ll be offended, because there are so many people out there that take offence to the strangest things…

This really did come from a dream. ;P But yeah, it helps that I decided to stick the dream I had at the beginning, and the develop the story from there rather than stick it in the middle. Also, I tend to develop my ideas anyway. >.>

There definitely is an awesomeness to it, which can even be felt a little bit in Gatekeeper. I expected to show off the relationship a little more once they were all on the colony, but…yeah. There’ll definitely be more squish in GO and GC, I’d hope. ;P

I definitely had fun doing this! I didn’t expect to, and the story didn’t turn out too terribly, especially knowing I have room to develop a lot of the concepts I came up with. Its sort of weird how it’s like…okay, completed a novel…next! Even though I say that every time, it’s still true, since I spent so much of the beginning of my writing never finishing anything. It still amazes me. :D And I’m so glad you still enjoy my stuff, because, after all, at this point, I’m writing it for you (and Anijel). <3
