Okay, second day started with me sleeping until 9, because nothing was going on, and, well, I was comfy. Shortly after I got up, my brother got a call from his boss that he was coming over with my dresses, and not too long after that, I got them. And I got to meet his boss for the first time, despite the fact that, apparently, he used to go to my store sometimes. Once I had that, and finished up breakfast, I got dressed, and played around with fangs. And turned myself into a vampire. Neat thing I that these are supposed to be one time use fangs, but they put in too much powder, so I can use them again if I want. :D
Since we ad nothing better to do, we decided to head out, my brother to the parade, and me to hang out, until I realized there was a panel I wanted to go to. It was ‘What Editors Are Looking For’, or something like that, and I learned that my breakout novel should be Earthia, not Purebred. Which works for me, because I was always suspecting that Purebred was going to have to be my second one. One thing I’ve been having trouble with with trying to find an agent is the fact that it’s not…unique. I can imagine how many vampire stories these people get. It’s not…extraordinary. But Earthia? YA Sci-Fi? Perfect. :D
Also, my jaw was really hurting, and I thought it was because I had to keep my jaw open for my fangs. So I took them out because it was so annoying, but it didn’t go away. So I took off my headband…and it instantly went away. -_- So I put my fangs back in after I got back to the room, which worked out, because I was able to eat lunch as well. Good thing the fangs weren’t one time use!
Took some pictures of myself with my newly attached fangs, though.
Vampire Erin.
Vampire goth Erin. With a pretty dress
A lot of people commented on my dress. Which made me feel good.
So anyway, headed out again after lunch to Artist Alley and the Dealer’s room. These were on the way.
Pinky and the Brain!
On the way out.
Hip-hop Stormtrooper. Wish I had gotten there a little sooner and took video; he was dancing.
I get back to the room, and dump my swag before realizing I suck because I’ve hardly been to any panels, and took hardly any pictures. Decided to head out early to any panel for the soul purpose of taking pictures.
Candyland peeps! I had no clue who they were, just thought they looked pretty. But someone commented later, and thus, I learned who they were.
Drows? I don’t know. Thought they looked interesting. (And find Waldo. >.>)
Covert shot of Sailor Uranus. Also saw a Sailor Jupiter and a Sailor Mars, but no pictures of them. :(
Mr. Freeze.
Wizard of Oz people. I liked the monkey guy. Too bad it’s a bad shot.
Chad Vader! Furry Ghostbuster! Someone asked don’t we don’t want to just pet him! Yes, yes we do.
Hee hee. Captain Knuckles. :P
Barrel of monkeys?
Random X-Men group
Can’t see it well, but some Sith people.
More pretty people for
callisto_chan.
Harley and…I don’t know. Looks like a female Captain America.
Batman!!
Halo guy vs. Predator guy
Green army dude.
Hee hee. I’m sort of…for BP, because at least they were taking responsibility for what happened, but this was funny.
Some Joker henchmen sorts.
Another bad picture, but RofJ Luke with…R2D2!!
After that, I headed to my panel, where I learned to use common sense when writing a fight scene, None of it was useful for Purebred, but maybe for some of my other stories? I hope so; it was insightful.
But then I decided to go ahead and go to another panel, since I had nothing better to do, and thought, hey, let’s see what YA is doing. They had a panel on ‘Freaks and Geeks of HP’, which was all about the minor characters of HP. It made me realize two things.
1) I’m starting to get back into HP again. It was probably the panel that did it, maybe its jut my nostalgic phase. I don’t know. I used to hate it, now I realize I sort of want to go back and reread them again. Ha, like I have time!
2) I don’t want to worry about people complaining that my story’s too much like Twilight. I want people to say that ‘she really is the next JK Rowling’ because my writing’s just that good. I mean, geeze, she wrote about minor characters we cared about, and invested time in. I want to have that sort of impact.
But I’m so mad. I thought about bringing drawing supplies, but figured I could wait. I want to draw! I want to work on Odessa and Eve and make them awesome! Gah!!!
But anyway, after that, I headed back, kicked my brother out so he could go to the World Record Attempt for largest gathers of Star Trek geeks costumes. Which they did. Hee hee. He got a shiny ribbon, and I’m jealous.
So…here’s my ‘swag’.
Cure Peach (which I got because she’s actually what inspired me to redo my Elemental Spirits people. I haven’t seen much of her show, but she’s pretty), a Sailor Moon wall scroll with Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask (I was like OMG, Sailor Moon stuff! Must buy!), Sailor Mercury keychain (to replace a Sailor Venus on a lost a long time ago),
Red String playing cards (I was looking forward to buying these as soon as I saw she was doing them. They were the only thing I was planning on buying.), and Ouran High School Host Club cards (because I could).
So yeah, now I’m back in the room, doing this. And you’d think the people in the adjacent room would learn from last night, but no. Another party. Shut up!!!
Tomorrow I get to wear my Sailor Astra costume. :D
