dumb people got... no reason to live

So this morning I was minding my own business, walking to class, and I get a huge picture of a dead baby shoved in my face. I was like WTF??? so I took the pamphlet and kept walking, and to my complete horror, around the corner were about five huge posters with dead and bloody baby corpses on them, and headings like "poor choice". they were held ( Read more... )

While we do not have to carry the baby for 9 months it is still half of us and half our responsibility. It isn't just a womens issue it affects both, or at least it should.

True.
But I feel about it this way. I would never have an abortion, but I would also never tell someone else they cannot.
I don't feel it is the business of these people.
that's just me.

Definitely, I am very much pro-life and I do not agree with their ways of showing their feelings on the issue.

True, but in the end the fact the woman is the one who does carry the baby for nine months gives her the right to make the decision.

It's funny, most people who are pro-life are against sex ed. If they spent half of the energy they use to protest abortions to educate the youth of america on birth control and other forms of "safe sex" then perhaps we would have less babies "to kill or not to kill"... but that's just me.

Agreed, or the parents should suck it up and give their kids "the birds and bees" talk and warn them about the dangers, before they're off having unprotected sex.

Instead they're learning it from Billy down the street, and on the internet, where they don't get "real" facts.....ugh, how long does Bush have left? Maybe we can elect someone smart next time.

I think the guy should have as much say in it as the women. That child is still half his reguardless of where it is at. Unfortunately, a lot of the time when the mother is thinking about abortion it is because he is not around.

Well, unfortunately you can think that all you'd like but it doesn't really matter. You're right, the baby belongs to both aprents equally, but nature decided that the baby would live and grow inside the woman. Abortions affect our bodies so it's our decision. I'm not saying it's fair, but that's the way it is.

Men can do their best to educate young women and not put their significant others in the position to have to make that decision. That's about it. The man's opinion matters, but they just don't get to have the final say.

None of our thoughts really matter. None of us are going to persuade the other to believe or think differently. Abortion has so much emotion behind it on both sides that talking about it without it turning into an argument is hard.

I am curious how it would workout in the courts if the father tried stopping a women from having an abortion.

It would come down to being the woman's choice, unless the woman has no dignity/self esteem/opinions...or brains. The bottom line is that it is the woman's choice and she will do what she wants, when she wants with her body. The men could TRY all they want to stop them, but unless the woman is completely submissive and can't stick up for herself, they won't succeed.

I find it hilarious that most of the stupid polititians fighting for or against abortion are old, fat, white males.

People will always take the side that effects them the most. I think this has become less an issue of morality for everyone, and more and issue of women's rights. It is ridiculous to think that someone should be allowed to dictate what any woman can or should do with their bodies.

There are tons of laws already in place saying what you can and cannot do with your body. One cannot smoke, drink, or take some drugs until a set age. A person cannot put specific chemicals in their bodies, you cannot even kill yourself legally. They are there to protect you.

People aren't trying to stop women from having an abortion because they think women should be submissive/have no self esteem/or an opinion, they are doing it because they think the child inside of the women has a right to live.

I am not old, fat and am hardly stupid, ones opinion is not dictated by skin color either.

I haven't heard about a case like that, but i have heard of a father who refused to pay CHILD support because he wanted the mother to have an abortion originally, and then she didn't.

haha that is a little bit different. It is sad that there are so many men not stepping up and taking responsibility.
