I am a nerd

Two Random, Nagging thoughts that have popped into my head today:
* What on earth is so fun as a barrel of monkeys? Why would a barrel of monkeys BE fun? Is this simply sarcasm that is lost on me, as the fact that snuffleupagus did not exist except to Big Bird was lost on me as a child?
* How do they know for sure that no two snowflakes are alike? Have they done extensive research? There’s no possible way they could catch every snowflake to analyze it, so could there be exact snowflakes around, like human identical twins? And how do they study the shape of snowflakes? Certainly in very cold places. What about from one year to the next? Are they saying that the exact snowflake will never occur again? One would think that the probable outcomes of snowflake appearance would exhaust themselves over one winter, at the very least. Are they trying to say that when Napoleon Bonaparte attacked Russia, and there was a blizzard, that it’s not possible that one snowflake from that blizzard could match one that fell yesterday, or in 1002 B.C., or one that compounded with billions of others to form the glacier that the Titanic hit? A snowflake in Antarctica might look precisely the same as one falling in Britain, but nobody would ever know. That is because snowflakes have short life spans. If the theory is correct, and no two are alike, Jack Frost is wasting his creativity. Snowflakes are dying (melting) all over the place, in many ways.
I guess this can relate to people. We can’t be sure that there wasn’t a person in 1622 walking around who didn’t look just like me. We assume that no one we’ve never met before has our same genetic composition. And humans die all the time. Everyone in our history books is dead, whole populations completely die off. I suppose God could get away with a little repeat now and then, even with different people. We’d never know.
Snowflakes are just water, frozen, crystallized. They can’t have DNA, right?

Anyway, that was completely off the top of my head, and I do realize I was taking that far too seriously. Some people might consider me ditzy. I just think I think way too much.
