Indy IV
Yesterday I went to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull with much skepticism, because yes - I thought - the cast includes Jim Broadbent, John Hurt and Cate Blanchett, but it's a sequel realized almost 20 years after the last episode, probably without a significant plot, therefore a disappointment, a complete waste of time and money.
I was wrong: of course it's not a masterpiece, but it's well directed, with many amusing scenes (and hyperbolic situations as well, like Shia LaBeouf-Tarzan jumping form a tree to another followed by an army of little monkeys, or Indy managing to live through an atomic explosion just by hiding into a fridge), and even though the plot is a bit of weird mixture of adventure and sci-fi (aliens building El Dorado? lol) the result was a pleasant evening.
And Cate Blanchett is a wonderful villain, even with a ridiculous russian accent and an odd bob haircut.
