been back from grandma's funeral for some time now but been a little too crazy busy to write.

I met my grandma for the first time during the summer of 1996 when I played electric guitar in Tragedy Ann. We were on tour with Grammatrain & Common Children. We weren't playing in New Mexico, but we were driving through probably from Phoenix and heading over to Texas, or from Colorado. Can't remember. Up until then I had been in touch with her by letter off and on for the previous 8 years or so. When I found out I would be traveling through Albuquerque I thought it would be cool to meet her. Why had it been so long to meet her? Long story, maybe I'll tell it later....

That summer we were traveling in an old Winnebago. At the time it had bad brakes. I remember we were driving through the night through the Rockies pumping our brakes. So that morning we stopped by some Auto place to work on it while my grandma came to meet me, the band and to take me to her place for food.

I remember her stepping out of her car. She was really short, like 4"11'. I then realized who I got my shortness gene from. (She's French and Native American Indian) She loved on me and the guys in the band. Dave was a big burly guy with tons of tattoos and never wore a shirt, but she didn't care. Oh and mikee is like 6 foot something, just towering over her. She didn't care, she gave them all hugs. After Dave spent the whole day working on the car and getting all greasy, she gave us all food and let us have showers.

Since then we've seen each other and visited each other numerous times. That meeting was the first of many. Wish it would have happened earlier, and more often.

Grandma almost died 4 years ago. She had a real bad heart and has been hooked up to an oxygen tank ever since. Even in her condition she kept caring for her family. Her husband, Sully is not in good condition and needs her almost constant attention. Uncle Gary is blind and he was living at home. She was taking care of him as well. She literally took care of them until her body went out.

I am confident she is in a better place. She gave many a good example of how to live, by loving others. Grandma, rest in peace.

I'll post some pics as soon as I figure out how to work this dang scanner.

Beside the very unfortunate circumstances I got to see my fam. Partnered up with my cousin Jami to cream my sis Dayne and cousin Adam in a couple games of Euchre. If you want to lose a card game, challenge me at this one.

Oh and don't laugh, I'm reading this book to see what all the hype is. Very clever. I can see why so many people are buying into this garbage. The devil is clever.
