I may have lost my dear red flannel, but I just discovered my back up one.
Not nearly as stylish as the red, but suitable for it's purpose.

The other day I returned my backpack to REI to get something larger and more suitable. I also did it just for fun; to take advantage of their member return policy. The cashier started giving me crap for what I was doing, and then tried telling me that they just incinerate any returns. I said "No, you resell them at your Garage Sales." He then backed himself up by telling me he is just doing his job and trying to save the company a one hundred dollar loss. Well I got a new backpack, and he marked down on my membership I was trying to take advantage of the system.
Well about fifteen minutes ago, this all popped into my mind while I was cleaning. I was thinking about what he said, and it just occurred to me that the REI corporation probably pays about thirty dollars a piece for the backpack I returned. What a dildo.
I suppose I have to buy something new in order to return it at some point.
