This week was especially tense at work. We've been getting hammered after the lunch hour. We'll have 25+ calls lined up in queue, and as soon as you finish that call, another rolls right in, and you're back in the fray. It's relentless and mentally exhausting. Yesterday, by 4:15, I couldn't read the knowledge articles (the scripts for fixing stuff). I saw words, but I couldn't put them together. I just started escalating calls to tier 2.
Not only that, but my call times suck. I go over. Sometimes way over. That and I focus on the screen and forget to document what's going on. Then I have to hit the After Call Work button to get caught up. Then I get IM'd "Get out of aftercall." I can't even take a breath.
Honestly, I can't keep up with that pace. I feel tired and confused. I want to get up, go to my manager and say "I can't think straight. I'm going home." They will fire me on the spot.
