Livejournal, today I did some science. I decided to look into Christina Ricci's forehead. The findings will... unsettle you.
We begin with a simple trio of images. In the first we can see an unaltered photograph of Christina Ricci. The second image is a hastily modified version of how a human with her facial structure would appear. The third image, for reference and comparison, is an alien.
Now, despite the apparent evidence (the unaltered photograph) that her forehead is just god damn terrifying, I decided to do some research to ensure that she truly had an enormous dome. Here I have defined the concept of forehead-to-face ratio (FTFR) as the ratio between the distance from the centerpoint between eyebrows to the hairline, and the distance from the centerpoint between the eyebrows to the bottom of the lower lip. I chose the latter so as not to allow chin size to affect the result.
In this next picture we see the FTFR of four famous actresses; Christina Ricci, Scarlett Johansson, Jewel Staite, and Jessica Alba, respectively. Observe the comparisons.
We can see that for the three control subjects the FTFR is, in all cases, a little over 1:2. However, in the case of Ms. Ricci, you will notice that her FTFR is to 1:1, making her forehead almost twice as large (relatively) as the others.
Incredible. Terrifying. Accurate.
