Passing Time At Work.

I forgot about lj until I started going through my old bookmarks.
I also realized I haven't done my semester-ly run through of classes//life (not even for anyone else's benefit but my own) yet, and since I am bored and no one has or will come in for help tonight, this is what I choose to do over homework. Classes are going okay. A bit much, but I guess that is my fault for taking too many classes. It is crazy, but I schedule my final semester classes in 3 days. Never again will I have to do this as an undergrad-- how depressing is that??? But anyway, on to this semester..

-Psychology of Human Sexuality: One of the easiest psych classes I have taken. The first day the professor told us that no one has ever gotten below a B in any of her classes. Hopefully I'm not the one to screw that up, but the material is somewhat interest//not that hard. I also have like 4 friends in the class, which makes it somewhat more bearable..

-Religious Studies: It's an introduction course that does a survey of all the religions. The teacher is somewhat boring because his voice is so monotone, but the stuff we are learning is actually cool. He does go over the same point multiple times though, and just repeats himself. I also have heard from multiple people that his tests are impossible and they had to late drop the class. We'll see though..

-Microbiology: It's a bio course, but my one friend Emily is in the course with me. I also met a few other people who are really nice. The teacher makes the material interesting because he just tells the most random facts that is actually worth knowing in life. I've heard, however, that his tests also suck. I must have at least 40 pages of notes already as well.. so it should be fun to study for the first exam.

-Literature of the Occult: Really cool class. We already read Dracula, and the whole class is essentially a discussion class on the books and on things that we find occult. We already have talked about Tool as well so that makes it awesome in my book :-). Currently reading- The Golem. The class is not going to count for anything, but it interests me and that's all that matters.

-Cultural Aspects of Mass Media: One of my favorite classes. The teacher is really good and it is a discussion class where we just analyze things. For example, we spent the first week analyzing alcohol ads and who they are aimed at and all the symbolism in them. It sounds kinda lame when I write it, but I really enjoy the class. And no exams is a plus as well..

-Clinical Neuropsychology: One of those classes that I think I would love, except I really don't like the teacher. He is a nice guy, but is not that great a teacher. I know like 5 people in the class though which is always fun. The information is somewhat pertinent since it is essentially my major, but unfortunately, the time and teacher sucks so I always dread going to the class.

-Scuba Diving: Best Class.. well maybe not Ever, but it is still a great class. Once a week we have lecture and learn the basic physics/theoretical part of scuba diving, such as what to do and what not to do while 100 feet underwater. Then we meet again at the pool for 2.5 hours every week and swim and learn how to scuba/snorkel. It is somewhat demanding a class physically because the tanks are heavy and you have to be able to hold your breath for like 2 minutes and pass all these tests to get into the class, but I really like it.

So that covers all of my classes, sorta. I am also a TA for the photojournalism class. It's not bad because it is twice a week for three hours AND i get paid pretty good. But it's still a job and unfortunately takes up time to do. That's where I am right now, but since no one has come in to see me, I can sit and do my homework or whatever else I want unless someone else has a question.

I'm also in a yoga class (the only reason I paid for it is because then I am forced to go and it actually fit nicely into my class schedule unlike the other classes I can take with my fitness pass). I've only had it once so far, but it's a nice, relaxing mid-week escape, so I'm all about it.

The psych labs I'm working in aren't too bad. For the one, right now I'm only training people how to become RAs and apply the electrode nets to people heads (to read brain waves). I think studies will start up soon, but it's not bad so far. The other one I'm in hasn't really done anything yet this semester. I was helping them with a multiple-sclerosis study, but I know they are busy working on another study so we'll see what happens with that.

I think that is all I'm really doing right now, besides the basic food/workingout/sleeping thing. It's weird now that I actually have to go somewhere to see Dan besides the next bedroom over, but not necessarily bad. I've been swimming a lot more recently too (we have to go at least once a week in addition to the scheduled class time) and I missed it a lot. Football is going good--ranked number 5 right now! Although I'm not quite sure we deserve that ranking..

This week doesn't look too bad.. a couple of meetings and reading for classes. However, next week I have 3 exams and a paper. Not looking forward to that stress at all.
Alright time for me to actually do work and try to catch-up on some reading for classes.
Hope all is well for everyone else too!
