Roadtrip: T-Minus 3 Weeks!!
Three weeks from today, I will be heading out west on our awesome road trip :-)
I talked to Hannah tonight and I think every other phrase out of our mouths was "Oh my God- I'm so excited". We almost got it completely down for our itinerary//what we are going to do:
Sunday, May 10- Tuesday, May 12: Drive out there.
Tuesday- Four corners in the morning, Grand Canyon in the afternoon and evening (including the sunset). Tuesday night camp out at Mather campground (which is right in the Grand Canyon).
Wednesday, the 13: Wake up and watch the sun rise at the G.C. Pack up our campsite, explore the Grand Canyon a little bit more, then head out to Vegas. We're going to stay at Imperial Palace right on the strip and hit the town at night. (hopefully go to a bunch of the casinos//resorts and chill). Stay over night with BEDS and SHOWERS!
Thursday, the 14: Head out of Las Vegas into California. Go into L.A. and get a hotel in Long Beach. Exploring Long Beach and L.A. that night.
Friday, the 15: Continue to explore the Hollywood//Beverly Hills, then driving up the coast to Big Sur. Get a campsite and spend the night there.
Saturday, the 16: Pack up in the morning and head up to San Jose to go on a tour of the Manchester Mystery House. Afterwards, continue up into San Francisco. Explore the city a bit more and then drive a bit up the coast to another campground and/or hotel and sleep there for the night.
Sunday, the 17: Go up to Redwood National Park. Get a campsite right on the coast at a beach where you can see Elk and whales. Explore the park for the day.
Monday, the 18: Head into Oregon. Go up to Portland and explore the city a little. Then head over to the Columbia River Gorge. Hike to the second largest waterfall in the United States. Possibly get a campsite there for the night.
Tuesday, the 19: Drive up to Seattle. Probably spend the night exploring the city and finally getting a hotel room.
Wednesday, the 20: Exploring the city a little more in the daylight, then heading out to Montana. Go to Missoula and get a camp site in Beavertail Hill State Park for the night and camp under the Montana sky.
Thursday, the 21: Drive down to Yellowstone National Park. Explore the park and get a campsite at one of the campgrounds inside the park.
Friday, the 22: Leave Yellowstone and head to Mount Rushmore. We'll get a hotel in rapid city because it is muy cheap. Maybe hit other touristy places like a gravity spot.
Saturday, the 23: Head over to Illinois and drive through Chicago, and hopefully get a hotel in the city for the night.
Sunday, the 24: Head home!
It will be an absolutely insane two weeks, and I cannot wait for it!
The only thing that will suck is not seeing the boyy for 3 weeks, but it's good because I'll be having fun!
Just need to get through two more weeks of classes plus finals week, then it should be an okay summer:
-Start the summer out with the roadtrip.
-End of May: head out to State College for the rest of summer.
-First week of June: canoeing all week with a class.
-Third week of June: Hiking/white water rafing in WV all week with the same class.
-July to Aug: Anthropology and English and Biking class. Lots of chilling/laid backness.
