Adventures in Cibola, by a book

I got back from Cibola a day or two ago. Not that I returned quite how I expected to. But I suppose that is the price one pays for learning adventures. You get surprised. Or rather, you get surprised and spend a couple hours in a book, stuck in a pyramid, watching people. Though it was my own fault too. I asked the Vizier to give the pyramid the book, but I forgot to tell him how to get me out. Luckily I was brought back to Cyrus who helped me. Otherwise I might have spent a good bit of time trying to find my way out alone.

I should find both the captain and vizier and thank them.

The trip wasn't a complete failure though. I know I learned quite a bit, and it sparked in me an interest to seek out things in that shadow that I have seen mentioned in my studies. Like the bridge. It fascinates me. I suppose that it will have to wait though. First I need to speak with someone from Alhambra, to ensure that my journey there won't ruffle any feathers. Not that I can see how it would, given that I'll be trying to restore something to them that was lost, but everyone else seems to think it might.

It's funny. With all my travels and all I've learned, I still don't understand people. I'm not sure I ever will. For that matter, I'm not entirely certain that I understand myself once I pull myself out of my books. Figuratively, of course. A few people have tried to help me, but they leave me with more questions and confusion than I had to begin with.

Also, I'm beginning to yearn. I've only just returned. This isn't good.
