So here's the deal. Erika is a character meant to run plots. Specifically, she's meant to drag people around in order to help her find information, artifacts, books - she IS a Chantris after all! It's going on in Penglai as well, although that's sort of taken for granted. There's an Evil Overlord Academy not far from Jade City.

It's a pity the cultural exchange program between the Evil Overlord Academies of Cibola and Jade had to be canceled. Cross-cultural evil is so much better at catching heroic types off their guard.
