I forgot all about another fun thing i did when i updated yesterday but Brendan reminded me. We went on a hike (when i went on similar "hikes" as a child with my family they were just "walks" but the Canadian/American influence won out there, also there was some scrambling (climbing in normal terms but the sign said scrambling)). I of course who when packing for this park of my trip was only meant to be going to Melbourne for a month then to Womad and then a wedding and had no intention of doing any kind of walking didn't have any shoes or clothes that would normaly be thought of as "hiking gear" i was wearing a skirt, vest top, and best of all already broken velcro, purple, plimsole type shoes that i got for $15 (about 6 pounds (no pound sign on this computer)) a while ago. Needless to say they broke in amusing ways (the entire sole fell off the right shoe, rips down the side, etc.) through the course of the 8 km walk up and down rocks and sand banks. Was a very beautiful walk though. Thirsty work though in the sun.

"i find that its better to drink water before i get dehydrated" - said to Sara by her friends 3 year old neice, a much quoted child with other classics such as "thats just propaganda" (used correctly) and "can i have that my mummy has money, she can pay you".
