Bill seeks to clip President’s power to appoint justices ]
Summary: Rep. Golez proposes a constitutional amendment to prevent the president from appointing members of the judiciary, and seeks to ban people who have served a presidential appointment or an elective office from becoming a judge or justice.
This comes within days after the Supreme Court ruled 9-6 that Neri may opt not to disclose his conversations with Arroyo, citing executive privilege, and that one of those who voted for this was a recent appointee of Arroyo.
Talk about impulsive. Just because they don't like the SC ruling, they begin demanding changes to the constitution just so the Supreme Court cannot be "affected" in any way by the president. (Heck, even Chief Justice Puno is a presidential appointee and HE voted FOR the disclosure.)
YET when Arroyo was the one proposing charter change, they're all up in arms.
What the eff is wrong with you people?!
