yes that is true they have other issues
but my point was they have nothing to do with iraq
nothing at all
yet all these iraq rallies continually bring up israel
israel didn't support the invasion
didn't offer any troops or support
and most israelis feel the us has seriously fucked up the region
so I am strongly offended that these rallies continue bring in israel as if they have anything to do with it. This kind of connection is nothing more than anti-semitism.

what is going on between israel and palestine is certainly regrettable but it is regrettable from both sides of the border. Israeli's have a right to protect themselves from the constant rocket attacks that began after israel pulled out of the occupied territory. I understand that maybe people (myself included) see Israel's responses as disproportional but at the same time we must recognize they are responses. If rockets are fired killing Israelis than the IDF will cross the border and destroy the position from which those rockets are fired. Israel has brokered many cease fires and peace deals which have all been broken by Palestinian forces. So while their actions are often too forceful they are not without warrant. And in terms of the humanitarian crisis on the border this can not be denied. The problem is the blame should not lay entirely with Israel. What about Egypt and other surrounding Arab nations who have shut their borders to palestine. And that much hated fence has lowered the number of cross border attacks. If Palestinians wants the violence to end they need to elect a government that will work with Israel and accept the peace offers of the Israeli government and then maintain peace in their nation. Israel cannot be expected to accept constant suicide bombings, shellings and rocket attacks. Israel will respond and will continue to do so until a peace deal can be maintained. Israel has taken the first step towards peace (they pulled out) Palestine must take the next.
