heading toward 2009

Or is that "towards" ?

I had coffee today with writer Paula H. Murray dragonet2 where we talked about everything from the job market to ConQuesT to the beginnings of the science fiction club at the Univ of Kansas, which John Kessel was actively involved (and John was my instructor for one of my English classes at KU) to the late John Taylor who was very active in Kansas City area science fiction and elsewhere.

I'm actively planning new things for Hadley Rille Books after looking at the new levels it has reached during 2009. Its progress has been better than I'd hoped and I have preliminary plans for expansion. What does this mean? For one, a whole slew of exciting new books for 2010. More Fantasy, more novels, more in the Archaeology Series, more science fiction, more single-author collections.

Also, I'll remind you that we are currently accepting story submissions for Aether Age, to be edited by Christopher Fletcher and Brandon Bell, jointly published by M-BRANE SF and Hadley Rille Books. Go to http://aetherage.blogspot.com/ for announcements and a lot of really cool stuff that's going on with this, and for the guidelines.

And why did I name it "Hadley Rille Books" anyway?
