Well, I finally got home. After almost a week and a half trip to Alabama, i've finally arrived back at my 'Love Shack', and am free to go about my normal routine. Thank God. I'm so set on my old habits that going a week and a half without a computer was almost pure torture. Thankfully, I had my old friends Squall and Cloud to keep me company while I withered away slowly from the immense boredom. They seemed to argue amongst themselves alot, though.
Anyways, we headed up to my Aunt Jan's home. She has a house out in the boonies, but it's an awesome one. They just had it bricked, and it looks better. It's a two-story home, and they're relatively rich. They have a big screen TV and surround sound. I got to catch up on the movies I missed. My Aunt Jan buys almost every movie that comes out on DVD, so I got to watch, amongst other things:
Matrix: Revolutions
Terminator 3
Reign of Fire
Phonebooth
Shallow Hal
etc.
They were all incredibly good movies, including Phonebooth and T3. Revolutions was easily the best movie of the series. Sorry it had to be only a trilogy, but maybe the Warchovski (wtf? Is that even right?) Brothers will be able to cash in on that Matrix MMORPG everyone's talking about. No thanks. Unless it's free to play, i'm not wasting fifty bucks on it. It'll likely be some ludicrous number near the twenties.
Anyways, got to Disc 2 in FFVIII. It freezes up on me when I try to summon Brothers, or Draw, so I need to go to Eugene's and get it buffed up to get rid of all the scratches it has on it. That's what I have to pay when I buy pre-owned, unfortunately. Didn't get too far in FFVII, though. Still trying to catch a fucking Chocobo so I can cross those marshes, or whatever they are. It sucks. It's so much easier to, y'know.. be able to buy one?
During a period of four days of my stay at my Aunt's, three of her grandkids came over (at different days/periods of time) to spend time with her. I later learned that they practically live with her. Sigh. Well, there seems to be something in the gene pool which, because i'm the 'docile giant' from their perspective, that it's okay to annoy me/beat the crap out of me. Which was okay; I got my revenge. One of my older cousins wanted to fight with me and I ended up tossing her around like a rag doll. It was refreshing. Well, the male grandchild is CRAZY for video games. Which is okay, but he's still got four or five years before he's even able to appreciate games. For now, he just plays Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and Blinx: Time Sweeper for hours on end, doing nothing but running around and making no real progress. In two days, I decimated those games. Which is why I don't play action games. I breeze through them too quickly. I like RPG's, which will keep me busier longer.
Well, he'd annoy the heck out of me, asking me to 'help me' with the game. So I would. Finally, it got to the point where I just ignored him. All three of them are SPOILED, and they deserve each and every capital. The youngest female grandchild repeats the same want or need over and over until you get it for her. Anyone who knows me knows that I HATE when people repeat things, especially commands.
Me: -sitting in a chair, sipping coke, playing Star Ocean: A Second Story-
Her: "That's my seat."
Me: -ignores-
Her: "That's my seat. That's my seat. That's my seat."
Me: -grunts-
Her: "That's my seat." x10
Me: "FINE! TAKE THE DAMN SEAT!" -moves the next seat over-
I agree that it requires minimal physical action to actually move to the next seat over, but at the time, I was comfortable and didn't want to move, and this child was perfectly capable of sitting in any of the six chairs at the able. It's pretty bad.
Finally, when they all left and I got some silent time (which my Aunt was gracious enough to take them shopping) I got in movie time and game time for myself without little kids bothering me. Of course, they're so spoiled that they return with an Xbox game (Blinx). If my mom walked in with a game for me without any sort of warning i'd faint.
Chances of Eric having Grandchildren in the near future: 10%
Otherwise, it was an enjoyable, relaxing time. Got to swim, get half a tan, and catch up on movies. We went down to see two others of the family. My Uncle David and Aunt Rita, two different families, all from my Mom's side. Well, Rita's kids are freakin' HILARIOUS. I love being around them. I die laughing.
So, now i'm back. Gonna get back into FFXI, gonna do some research on marriages. I know they're putting it in when they release CoP. Wanna know if there'll be new jobs, too. Wee.
