Church this morning was wonderful. I've been to so many chapels in my mission that my own church meeting house didn't have any particular feeling of "home" to it. My talk today went well. Feedback was positive. The spirit was strong. Somehow it seems that when I underprepare, I end up speaking for 25 minutes. People in my ward are very intelligent. Comments in gospel doctrine were so poignant. A little over a week ago on the way to the airport from the mission home I asked President Gessel if he had noticed a big difference in the populace's intelligence on the east coast in comparison to the west, he having lived in UT, CA, OR, and NYC and spent time in MA. He stated that the difference is noticeable. I'm seeing it. I was not perceptive before my mission. That's not to say there aren't communities in the west that are equally if not more so intelligent than the intelligent populace here. But anyhow. I love both coasts.
