WOW questions

Nov 20, 2007 13:50

I have two questions that I can't figure out. 1. how does someone in the game on a different continent whom you have never met start a chat with you and offer to run an instant with you? 2. How do you use the coordinates on thotbot in the game to find something.

That is all for now.  LOL

The Beql addon (and with the additional lightheaded quest data) has user-added quest coordinates and NPC locations and you can click on the coordinates and receive an arrow in the center of the screen giving you a bearing and range to the location. Very, very, very useful.

Do you like that better than Cartographer?

Well because Beql integrates the lightheaded quest comment database you can get information on what other people did to complete the quests and where you need to go, which was a big help. The arrow is really handy. I also use Cartographer to show all the different resource points.

Hm.
I may have to switch to one of those add-ons at some point...
BTW, what server are you on?
And do you still play GW?

I play on Lightninghoof.

I do still play GW sometimes but not near as much as WOW lately.

WoW *is* addicting.
I play mostly on Area 52 (Horde) and Bloodhoof (Alliance).
And I have some mid-thirty-somethings on Bonechewer I need to play again. :)

At first I refused to let myself play it and then I broke down. I decided I would limit myself to a single toon if I was going to play it though. So far so good.

Cartographer has resource and quest item/giver DB integration... not sure it is the same format though.

Got it but still do not see anyway to use it for direction or questing?

You have to install the lightheaded quest database stuff too. I'm at work but I can try and dig it up later. Once you have that you can click on the coordinates you see in the quest notes for direction finding.

I downloaded a quest pack and I am using Wowmatrix to manage the add-ons. I have the lightheaded stuff but still do not see the arrow or coordinates you talked about. Other than putting these into my add on folder is there something I need to do to set these up in the game? I appreciate your help on this stuff as I am a noob on add ons. This is the first time I have ever tried to use one.
