First day back from vacation*: my (personal) computer is dead and there's a kids' violin class next door to my office. Milder, more predictable annoyances are magnified by those major ones -- the water is still wonky a week after the pipes were repaired, people need help that they should have asked for weeks ago, etc.
Yay.
I think I can at least recover the hard drive, and most of my really important stuff floats around in the Gmail/Dropbox cloud. Still: grrr, argh. Now every single one of my major electronic devices has kicked it in 2009.
Improving the morning substantially is my first look at the lovely, trippy cover of this month's Interzone 223, which contains my story "The Transmigration of Aishwarya Desai." Can't wait to get a hold of it in three dimensions.
*About which I'll write more later. Mead! Madness!
