I just had a sudden memory that I had forgotten about for years:
When I was 12 my family went to France for vacation. While there we drove from Paris down into the Loire Valley to look at chateaus. I guess that's what you do in France. Anyway, the farmers of France were all in a tizzy over government subsidies, or tarrifs, or some other stupid shit. To protest they drove their tractors onto every major highway and blocked all the traffic in France for a few days. As a result our scheduled 3 hour drive took closer to 12 hours since we had to navigate through tiny back roads halfway across the country. The scenery was nice, but even a 12 hour drive through the Garden of Eden would suck balls.
And to this day I still dislike both farmers and France as a result.
