It's gone...
GREAT NEWS!!! WE STILL HAVE A HOUSE, NOT A DROP OF WATER GOT INTO IT, NOT A SHINGLE BLOWN OFF THE ROOF, NOT EVEN A LEAF BLEW OFF A TREE!.............
Okay, now back to reality...
It's sad to say, but I believe my dad's house is gone. I don't want to sound selfish when I say this, but at least I got most of my things out that I really needed, and into my dorm room.
I think my mom's house just might have made it...we ended up knowing someone who is a geographer or something who got to look at some satellite photos of my Maw-Maw's house. Now, they couldn't tell for sure if there was water or not, cause, as many of you may know, those satellite photos aren't exactly the best of quality...but we do know for sure that she has a roof, and my mom lives only a few blocks away from her, so hopefully her house is alright.
The main thing my mom and grandparent's have to worry about is the huge ass pine trees that surround their houses on all sides. They are so tall and so skinny that they break in even the lightest of winds...so far all we know is that no trees fell on Maw-Maw's roof, but we're not so sure about Mommy's...we haven't gotten to look at any satellite photos of her house yet. Even if her house is ruined, she can always go live with my Maw-Maw 'til she gets back up on her feet...it won't be the first time she's had to start back up from nothing. We had our house burn down in Mississippi, and was forced to start all over again.
I'm in Monroe right now, along with my mom and Maw-Maw, staying at Scott and his g/f's place. We're doing just fine here, and hopefully we're gonna go play golf either tomorrow or Thurs.
All we can do now is wait...fuck all that praying bullshit.
P.S. - Luckily I'm on the 4th floor of my dorm, so my shit should still be high and dry....unfortunately, my truck wasn't...it was on the ground in the fucking parking lot...I hope it's still there...
