Proverbs 14:31 “Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.”
Proverbs 28:27 “Whoever gives to the poor will not want, but he who hides his eyes will get many a curse.”
Matthew 25:35-40 "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me." Then the righteous will answer him, saying, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?" And the King will answer them, "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."
Yes, this Pagan woman knows these quotes. I was raised atheist and I know the Bible better than 3/4 of the ninnies and nitwits who call themselves Christians. I've actually read it. They pick and choose which "God-given" edicts to enforce and expect the rest of us to turn a blind eye to the fact that eating shrimp is prohibited four times more often in the Bible than is homosexuality. But go out and stone the homosexuals because the Bible says "Thou shalt not lie with a man as with a woman." (There is no mention of women lying with women as with men.) They send out missionaries who don't know the story of Lot and his wife. I've met a lot of Christians; I know of only about five who are real Christians, although I'm sure I missed some.
And by the way, my parents didn't teach me to hate Christians; they just raised my brother and me without superstition and answered any questions we had honestly. It was the Christians themselves who taught me to hate Christianity with actions large and small. So I try to do what is right simply because it is right, not because some ancient goatherd drank too much wine and and hallucinated a talking burning bush.
