A quiet Christmas

Dec 25, 2014 23:50

Merry Christmas! We opened presents at our house with Karl's mom. Lydia got an electric blanket, a Harry Potter afghan, and tickets to a show in New York. Karl got a Japanese bell and most of the equipment to build a hydroponic garden. I got earrings, a book about the founder of the Mutter Museum, and a new Bundt cake pan. Karl's mom got a bulb garden, a nightgown, and a big fruit basket that we put together. We had steak and fixings for dinner with some of my large collection of German angel candle holders in use. We had cherry pie and Black Forest pie for dinner. The Black Forest pie turned out to be a berry medley rather that the chocolate and cherry we were expecting; good, but not the chocolate that Lydia had asked for. (First World Christmas disaster!) We sat and visited until just before dark, when Karl's mom drove home. Later the three of us watched "Guardians of the Galaxy" together, which was good silly fun. Time to toddle off to bed soon. Hope all of you who celebrate had as good a Christmas as we did. Blessed be!
