Today's important stuff

  • $4/gallon gas? Who can imagine such a thing? I feel bad for the Mom'n'Pop gas stations that are getting hit with this, but if they are the old style machines, they don't read credit cards on the pump, so, conceivably, you measure how much gas goes in, do some math, and pay the correct amount. There are probably laws about this saying that the measurement and price must come from the same machinery, but there are ways to deal with this through the use of arithmetic.

  • California strikes down ban on gay marriage. Good for them. The Dem candidates sounded about as enthusiastic, apparently, as if California had mandated Brussel sprouts be eaten at every meal. States should make the decision? Well, that's how the laws are written.

  • NYU grad tries to steal home at graduation ceremony. I especially like the guy's Dad, when asked by his wife if that was their son, replied, "No, that's an athlete." Dagger.
