So, you may have heard that the New England Patriots got up to something naughty and were caught videotaping the signals of opposing coaches. Now, before you say, "Hey! That's a great idea!" you should be warned that this is illegal. And they got caught doing it before. And the NFL just told them during the offseason, "No, really... don't do that."

The Pats are a juggernaut-dynasty right now. They took a team that was supposed to be a Very Serious Deal this year (the San Diego Chargers) and made them look like Duke. So, why are they stealing signals?

The easy answer is, "To get another edge." Another is, "Everybody's doing it," as has been purported. My guess: psychological warfare.

From here on in, other teams won't be preparing for the Pats, they will be preparing for the spies. They will change all the things that they've been practicing since two-a-days started. They will be looking over their shoulders when they should be looking across the line. They will lose. It is the elephant in the room, only this time, it's in your huddle.
