okay, so I'm awful I know - but i will get all up to date like i promise and then will be a lot better at the whole update thing...

first - here's the update that i wrote a week or so ago that the computer ate before I could post - well the internet ate it - my mistrust of vista means that I save everything to a word document as well.

but anyway...

Wow, another two days gone just like that. Wednesday was another around home day, in which I again got weirdly fascinated by the local supermarket. Seriously the place is huge and sells toys and lego and stuff. I also saw Spanish nuns, so one more point on the scavenger hunt. Yesterday we went round to the base with John again, and met up with one of the French Umpires wives Jacqueline - she only speaks a little English, but we both have great fun with her getting me to remember the French that I learned in school and her remembering the English that she picked up when she was in Auckland for the Cups in 2000 and 03.

Another morning spent down there and there is still much left to see. We did see the Louis Vuitton Cup, America's Cup, Louis Vuitton Store (I was very good and did not buy anything - must save money for other cities!) and all the restaurants that they have built along the north end of the port.

There is a 'graveyard' set up where teams have donated old or wrecked versions of the boats so we went there, and from the platform that you walk up we could see masts moving, so I raced down to the end of the marina in time to get some great photos of the teams leaving. Then it was back to race management so we could watch the umpires leave for the racing and cheer them on too.

Lunch was at the invite only (woo hoo) foredeck club (best dessert ever - i have a photo but it was a platter with a piece of chocolate/coffee mousse cake, a scoop of raspberry sorbet with roasted almonds and a watermelon daiquiri in a shot glass - awesome), and we were planning on spending the afternoon settled into their couches and watching the racing on their big plasmas as the draw called for the two highest ranked boats to sail against each other one course, Luna Rossa and Oracle, and the third and fourth place boats, Team NZ and Espanol, to meet on the other. Sadly there was too much wind for the boats, so racing was abandoned for the day and they will try and sail two flights today.

Today we are on a mission to find a post office - they are hidden in various places around town and some will post things but not sell you stamps. Strange. Hopefully it will not rain today though, as I have left winter weather behind and want only sunshine thank-you very much.

Anyway that was enough of a ramble about boats for me today, e.

Righto folks more soon...
