Hey all!! I got an early start to the long Labor Day weekend here which has been very nice. It looks to be a pretty awesome weekend too! Basketball game tonight (and getting to see one if my non-UConn favorites play live for the first time), tailgating tomorrow, seeing Wicked tomorrow night, and then grilling the rest of the weekend!!!

As for good books, I just finished 3 books by Tana French. They're mystery/crime novels set in Dublin and possibly my all time favorite books. Highly recommend.

In other good news, I've been doing weight watchers for the past 3 months and lost a total of 22 lbs so far which is about halfway to my goal!

Best thing this year, without getting too sappy, has to be the girl :)

Happy weekend all and happy long one to those in the US.

Thanks :). It's not exactly fun, but it's not too bad. I still drink plenty of beer :)

Have a good long weekend yourself, sorry the summer hours are over :(

Ahhh you're seeing Wicked! Who's jealous of whom now... That's awesome! Enjoy it and I want to know how you liked it! :D
How was the game? Did the team suprise you?

Just 'amazoned' that author and the books look really promising. I'd like to read one if I ever can move on from all the books I need to read for university. Is it possible/needed to read every book your prof is asking you to read? I'm in heavenly doubt about that and still there are too much.

Awww of course it's the girl! :) I really appreciate that she makes you that happy!

Well enjoy that super-long and immensly enjoyable-sounding weekend of yours! :D

I am also getting an early start to the weekend. Today is for the Late Summer Spring Cleaning in which I look at all the stuff in my house that's here and I never use and chuck it. Ended up taking six bags of trash to the transfer station.

Tomorrow is the Democracy Vineyards' Birth of Democracy Festival. Wine, food, coffee and the annual blessing of the harvest. Then it's finally over to Hilltop Berry Farm and Winery for Harvest Moon. Yes, that's the pumpkin spice mead I've been waiting for. The evening may end at Blue Mountain Brewery for dinner and a sample of their latest offerings. We are also considering hitting the Prince Michel Winery brunch the next day.

Still no TV signal here. I did catch this week's Rizzoli & Isles online and ended up being whelmed by it. Next week looks a lot better.

Happy Weekend, everyone!

So you're good with getting stuff out of the house? Congrats! That's such a good quality... I'm quite the contrary, way to good at persuading myself that you can make something out of anything. And everytime I throw something out I find myself needing it the next day. It's always hard work to make space in my apartement... *sigh*

Seems like you won't be likely to starve over the weekend! ;) That's all so perfect, so enjoy it and think of me who is starving with an empty fridge... ^^

Oh the Rizzoli & Isles, got me in all kinds of different emotions. And it was the first time I absolutely did get nothing of the crime plot. The fangirling was taking everything of me. xD Plus I don't know about next week. I mean, Marua was just all grieving about her 'Love of live' and everything and wooops now she's playing chess with Tommy? To quote Jane: 'Really?' That's a little too much. Can't they give her a rest for like one episode? humpf. On the other hand everything else does look interesting.

Ugh, whatever it is that's making you sick I really hope they'll find it soon, because that sounds like no fun at all. That many appointments must be a pain in the ass. Get better soon! *hugs*

But wohoo for the travelling! :D Have fun visiting your friend. That's the best way to discover new places I think, with friends who can show you all the fun things to do! :)

And it's a good thing to sometimes sit on your ass. There's too much running around in this world for my taste anyway!

hey, thanks :)) It is a pain in the ass, the most irritating thing is that I have to wait so long for the results.
This is going to be like the craziest weekend ever! :D

you're welcome. And I know how that goes. I had a similar time with one appointment after the other and in the end no one could tell me anything. Seems like 'stress' is the ultimate answer these days. Really hope getting the results will help you in the end!

Hehe, I hope you're enjoying it! :D

What's up peoples? Is the end of summer, around here and I'm none to happy about it. Plus, my boss agreed to a nice summer schedule with half days on Friday, so that's coming to an end too. :( But hey, it's college football time now, and I plan to let that consume my weekend. A little grilling, a lot of drinking and it's going to be a nice Saturday. I'm going to try some head-on shrimp tonight, wish me luck.

Totally with you on the end of summer. :/ That's just so sad, because I wasted most of the really nice days in the library. Worst summer I can remember so far.
But summer schedule must have been great. Maybe you can convince her to change into winter schedue now, which would be only half days on Mondays. And the second half of the day. Since apparently everyone needs longer to get out of bed and into the week in winter!

Haha good luck with the food, hope you enjoyed it after you put it in eatable form!

Hello you lovely people! :) I'm just back from a classical cantata-concert in honor of Georg Böhm and it was a nice end of the week. (The choir was really good, while the soprano singer unfortunately perished a little.)

This time next week I'm on my way to Italy in a car full of people and with way too less luggage because there's just no space. Honestly can't waaaait! The thing is that actually I'd need to change three times a day while being there, cause I have so many pretty skirts and tops I wasn't able to wear yet. Because there was no summer... :( ugh. And now we're going straight into autumn. I cannot believe this.
So this week was all about girly-preperations. I had a manicure, a facial and a massage. hmmm pure luxury! Now I'm broke but relaxed. :)

Now I'm going to spend my weekend with my philosophy-Essay... Fun times ahead! ^^ Hope you all have better plans and that everyone who was affected by one of the natural disasters is safe and sound!

Ahh, Italy!!! Take a lot of pictures and drink even more cheap wine :)
Some day I'm gonna go there too! And maybe live there when I'm around 60, with my cats and wine cellar :)
Have a great trip!
