"The Aspern Papers" sold out/standing-room-only at FilmColumbia!

Saturday night ended with a bang with the much anticipated “Saturday Night Sneak,” - which ended up being “Fair Game,” starring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts, and directed by Doug Liman - and a cocktail party with music, dancing, and finger foods at the Tracy Memorial.

“It was amazing,” said Festival Director Calliope Nicholas. “Our best attendance ever. All the venues were packed.” She added that at one point both “The Aspern Papers” at the Morris Memorial and “The King’s Speech,” at the Crandell sold out, meaning there were over 800 people at the festival at a single time. She also said that this year definitely surpassed last year in attendance, with over 6,000 people attending throughout the course of the festival. "FilmColumbia's Kodak Filmmakers Award" was given to Mariana Hellmund for The Aspern Papers at the closing screening of the festival! The only award given by the festival, it was announced by Peter Biskind and presented to Mariana by Courtney Hunt. Brava!
